Have you ever felt like trouble was closing in, like your enemies were gaining ground, or that you were walking through life with a giant target on your back? I’ve been there. I’ve had seasons where it felt like the opposition had my name and address, and every day was a battle just to stay afloat. But during one of those tough times, I came across a powerful message that reminded me of this truth: God knows how to hide you in plain sight. When the enemy sets out to harm you, God has the power to make you invisible to his plans.
The Bible is full of moments where people should’ve been destroyed, captured, or defeated—but weren’t. Why? Because God shielded them. And He still does that today.
One of the most comforting verses that speaks to this is Psalm 27:5, which says, “For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” God doesn’t just protect us—He hides us. He conceals us from danger that we may not even be aware of.
Think about Moses. As a baby, he was placed in a basket and hidden among the reeds while Pharaoh was killing Hebrew boys. Not only was he hidden, but he was raised in Pharaoh’s own house. That’s divine irony! God hid him from harm and positioned him for purpose. Sometimes, the hiding is not a setback—it’s a setup.
Maybe you’re in a season where you feel overlooked or unnoticed. You’re working hard, praying faithfully, and doing the right thing, but it seems like doors are closed, opportunities are delayed, or recognition just isn’t coming. Don’t be discouraged. You’re not being ignored—you’re being hidden. And hidden doesn’t mean forgotten.
Isaiah 49:2 says, “He made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in His quiver.” That verse hits home for me. Just because the arrow hasn’t been released doesn’t mean it won’t be. God hides what He has refined. When the time is right, He’ll launch you into your purpose, and no enemy can stop it.
Sometimes, the greatest blessing is not what we see, but what we never had to face. We’ll never know how many times God made us invisible to the enemy—how many attacks were canceled, how many dangers were avoided, and how many traps were dismantled without our knowledge.
One powerful example of this is found in 2 Kings 6. Elisha’s servant wakes up one morning and sees their city completely surrounded by the Syrian army. Terrified, he runs to Elisha in a panic. But Elisha responds with calm assurance: “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prays, and God opens the servant’s eyes to see that the hills are full of horses and chariots of fire—heaven’s army surrounding them.
But the story doesn’t stop there. Elisha then prays again, and God strikes the Syrian army with blindness. The entire army becomes powerless, unable to see or execute their plan. Elisha leads them straight into the city of Samaria—right into what could’ve been their destruction. Then he prays a third time, and God opens their eyes. Can you imagine the shock of waking up to find yourself surrounded?
That’s what God does—He blinds the enemy, reroutes the attack, and keeps you covered. He hides His people in plain sight and confuses the enemy’s plans. If He did it for Elisha, He can do it for you.
If you’re walking through a spiritual battle, take heart: God’s hand is over you. You may feel exposed, but you’re actually protected. You may feel weak, but you’re covered by His strength. You are not outnumbered—you are surrounded by the Most High.
Don’t worry if it seems like nothing is happening. Don’t get discouraged if you haven’t seen the breakthrough yet. You may be in a hidden season, but it’s holy ground. It’s where God refines, protects, and prepares. And when He’s ready, He’ll bring you out stronger, wiser, and right on time.
Hold on to Psalm 91:1, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” That’s the safest place you can be—under His shadow, in His shelter, hidden from harm.
So today, walk with confidence. You’re not walking alone. You’re not unprotected. You’re not exposed. You are hidden in the hand of God, and when He hides you, no weapon formed against you can prosper. The enemy may look for you, but he won’t find you—because you’re not where he expects. You’re covered, you’re protected, and you’re invisible to his plans.
I hope this speaks to you, and I pray you have a blessed day.
