Seek First the Kingdom

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
Seek Me
With Easter rapidly approaching, it feels like I am spinning more and more plates trying not to let them fall while also trying to keep them all spinning. Gearing up for Easter is like getting ready for the Super Bowl! With that in mind it’s vital to remember Easter is important for several reasons; one being it proved Jesus was who He said He was and as a follower of Christ, it’s also important because more people come to faith on this holiday than on any other day in the year.

It’s also important to know Jesus is still on trial today. Everyone one of us can relate to someone in the story of His life, death and resurrection. Some, like the Pharisees, still challenge His claim to be the Son of God, while others, like the disciples say they are Christians, but deny Him by their lifestyle or run away when things get too hard. Many are like the Gentiles looking for purpose and meaning in life and to be loved.

This Easter, my prayer is that not only would we have a huge number of new followers of Christ, but that there would also be a vast renewing of the faith in current believers’ lives. We all wander at times, but it’s up to us how far we allow ourselves to wander. As we drift, God’s Spirit tugs at our heart yearning for us to come back because He knows the heartache we experience apart from Him. Christ must remain the anchor of our soul because in the chaos of life, without God we are hopeless; we must remember God is not only with us, but He is also in us. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave dwells inside of us. There is nothing that can separate us from His love. It was this love for us that held Jesus on the cross. He will never leave nor forsake you and your names are engraved on the palms of His hands. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so too is His love for us. Make time for God and it will be the best investment you ever made.
