Stuck in a Rut

I’ve got to start by saying, we serve a supernatural God and that His blessings are limitless.  Even when things look permanent or unfixable; one breath of God can meet and exceed any need we have.  The problem we have is when we’ve been in a place for what feels like an eternity, change can often seem impossible which causes us to believe wherever we are is permanent.  But, God has the power to suddenly change things in our lives, no matter the circumstance and no matter how long it has existed or how complicated it is.  God’s favor and blessings are immeasurable and limitless and if the God we serve can cause the sun to go backwards, He can do anything we need regardless of how many voices are telling there is no hope.  Our faith is what allows God to do amazing things in our life.

There can be times we wake up too depressed and shamed to even get out of bed or when seeing our own reflection makes us feel like the scum of the earth and nothing, but a disappointment.  Even though through God’s blood we are acquitted; guilt can still remain causing us to feel like the only thing people see in us is the sin we committed.  It is in these times that we need to cry out to Jesus and say:  Have mercy on me God according to your steadfast love.  Wipe away my transgressions and wash me in your cleansing blood.  Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit.  I pray you reveal yourself to me and don’t hide your face.  I’m waiting patiently on your Lord and I know you hear my cry.  Restore your joy in me for in you alone I live and die.  Even when I feel lost, in you I know I am found.

God can make rivers in the desert and as long as we stay connected to the vine, to the true and living God, to Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our provider, then we are connected to a supply line that will never run out.  As long as you are doing your best to honor God and you have a heart to help others, there is no limit to what God can do in your life.

I’m Chaplain Jeff Davis

With God, all things are possible. I write to offer hope and encouragement to anyone walking through the in-between seasons of life. My prayer is that as you read these words—and see your own story reflected in them—you’ll be strengthened, reminded you’re not alone, and drawn closer to the One who makes all things new.
