Scriptures: Zechariah 8:9-17, Revelation 6:1-17, Matthew 25:31-46
As we close week 3 of this season of Advent, we prepare for the coming of Christ, the King of peace. Zechariah 8:9-17 speaks of a future where God’s people will be restored, their lives filled with truth, peace, and prosperity. Amid challenges, the message is clear: God will fulfill His promises. His presence will reign, and His kingdom will be characterized by justice and righteousness. As we wait for Christ’s return, we are called to live as those who embody His kingdom values—truth, peace, and faithful worship.
Revelation 6:1-17 offers a stark reminder of the end times, where judgment will come, and the world will face the consequences of its actions. The seals that are broken symbolize God’s righteous judgment, yet they also point to the ultimate victory of Christ over evil. The suffering and turmoil seen in these verses are part of the broader story of God’s redemptive plan. As believers, we look forward to Christ’s return, when justice will finally be established, and the reign of sin will end.
Matthew 25:31-46 speaks directly to how we live as we await Christ’s return. The King will judge the nations, and our actions toward the least of these—those in need—will reveal the true state of our hearts. This passage invites us to live out the love of Christ by serving others, especially those who are marginalized.
Reflect: As we wait for the return of Christ, let us live in anticipation of His justice, mercy, and peace.
Prayer: Lord, we thank You for the hope of Your return and the promise of a restored world. Help us to live faithfully, embodying Your kingdom values of justice, peace, and love. May we serve others with humility and compassion, reflecting Your heart in all we do. Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
