Scriptures: Amos 4:6-13, 2 Peter 3:11-18, Matthew 21:33-46
Advent is a season of preparation—a time to reflect on the Lord’s coming and our readiness to meet Him. Today’s passages remind us of the urgency to turn to God, align our lives with His will, and bear fruit for His Kingdom.
In Amos 4, God reminds Israel of His repeated attempts to draw them back to Him through trials and warnings. Yet, they refused to return. These sobering words challenge us to examine our hearts: are we ignoring God’s call to repentance?
Peter, in his epistle, urges believers to live holy and godly lives as they await the day of the Lord. He reminds us that the delay in Christ’s return is not neglect but patience, allowing more time for repentance. As we prepare, we are called to be found “spotless, blameless, and at peace with Him.”
In Matthew 21, Jesus shares the parable of the tenants, highlighting the consequences of rejecting God’s messengers and His Son. The invitation is clear: God desires fruitfulness in our lives. Will we honor Him with our obedience?
Reflect: This Advent, let us heed these warnings and respond with readiness. May we live lives that reflect God’s grace and truth, bearing fruit that glorifies Him.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your patience and for calling us to Yourself. Help us to live in readiness for Your return, turning from sin and bearing fruit for Your Kingdom. Fill us with Your Spirit and guide us to walk in Your ways. Amen.
