Have you ever thought about how one person can change the world? Or how one encounter with Jesus can change a life? It’s easy to get caught up in the crowds, the numbers, and the noise—but sometimes the greatest movement of God begins with just one more.

This week at Generations United, Pastor Tommy delivered a powerful and stirring message centered on the simple yet profound theme: “Just One More.”

It’s a call to remember that the heart of the gospel beats for people—one person at a time. One neighbor. One friend. One family member. One coworker. One child. One prodigal. One broken heart.

As I sat listening, I found myself deeply moved by the story of Simeon in Luke 2. Simeon was a devout man of faith, living in expectation. Scripture says he was “waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him” (Luke 2:25). He had been promised that he would not die before seeing the Messiah with his own eyes.

Day after day, he waited.

Year after year, he believed.

Then one ordinary day, that promise became reality.

Moved by the Spirit, Simeon walked into the temple just as Mary and Joseph were bringing in baby Jesus. And when he held the child in his arms, Simeon declared, “Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You may now dismiss Your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen Your salvation” (Luke 2:29–30).

Just imagine the power of that moment. A lifetime of faith. A single promise. And one encounter that changed everything.

That’s what God is still doing today—through people like you and me. And it’s happening right here at Generations United. God is moving, restoring, healing, and saving. Lives are being changed. Families are being strengthened. Hope is rising. And you are invited—not just to attend, not just to check a box—but to be a part of what God is doing.

We’re not interested in filling seats. We’re interested in filling hearts and transforming lives.

Here’s something staggering to consider: 90% of people have never been personally invited to church. But get this—90% of those who are invited will actually come. Think about that! The difference between someone walking into an encounter with Jesus or continuing to walk alone… could be you.

And here’s something even more urgent to consider: What if your “just one more” is the final soul to say yes before Jesus returns?

In Matthew 24:14, Jesus said, “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” God is patiently waiting, not wanting anyone to perish but for everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). That means every person reached matters eternally—and urgently. The next soul saved could be the last one needed to usher in Christ’s return. We are not just playing church—we are fulfilling prophecy.

You may think, “I’m not a preacher,” or “I don’t know enough Scripture,” but hear me—God’s not looking for perfect people. He’s looking for available people. People who will say yes to the nudge of the Holy Spirit. People who will care enough to stop for just one more.

Who is your just one more?

Maybe it’s your sister who’s far from God. Maybe it’s a hurting coworker, silently drowning behind a smile. Maybe it’s the man at the gas station you always see but never speak to. Maybe it’s you—yes, you—needing to believe that God hasn’t forgotten His promise over your life.

Simeon reminds us that God’s promises are not on our timeline, but they are sure. And when we hold on, when we stay faithful, we will see with our own eyes what we’ve believed in our hearts.

And here’s the miracle: sometimes you are the answer to someone else’s prayer. Just like Simeon held Jesus in his arms, you might be the one to carry Christ into someone’s life. You might be the moment someone has been praying for. You might be the open door that leads someone into the family of God.

So, don’t underestimate your presence. Don’t undervalue your story. Don’t ignore that stirring in your spirit when you feel compelled to reach out.

The mission of Generations United is not about buildings or programs—it’s about people. It’s about stepping out in faith for just one more. And if you’ve been searching for a place to belong, a purpose to pursue, a reason to hope—this is it. Come be a part of the story God is writing. Come find your place, not in the back row, but in the family. Let’s walk in our calling, together.

We’re not asking you to be perfect. We’re asking you to show up. Show up for your one. Show up for your purpose. Show up for the God who never stopped showing up for you.

So, let’s make it personal. Who is your just one more?

And what if your invitation is the one that changes eternity?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for loving us so deeply that You sent Jesus—our salvation, our hope, our peace. Help us to live with eyes like Simeon, full of expectation, and hearts that burn for just one more. Give us the boldness to invite, the compassion to reach, and the persistence to pray until the lost are found. Let Generations United be a house of healing, a place where promises are fulfilled, and lives are forever changed. Use us to help fulfill Your mission, Lord—because the next soul saved might just be the final one before You return. We don’t want to go through the motions—we want to go after the mission – to grow Your family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
