Have you ever closed your eyes and seen more than when they were open?
That’s been my experience in this chapter of my life. God is calling me into a deeper place—one that requires greater trust, deeper surrender, and a clearer sense of purpose. It’s not about stepping into something new, but about going further into what He’s already planted in me. And I’m realizing more than ever that vision is the key. Vision is helping me see beyond current challenges and distractions. It’s sharpening my focus, reminding me what truly matters, and giving me the boldness to pursue the calling with fresh passion and unwavering faith. When I close my eyes, I can see it clearly—and that inner picture is shaping every step I take.

I know it sounds backward, but that’s how vision works. Vision isn’t about what you can see around you; it’s about what you can see within you. It’s not about physical sight—it’s about spiritual insight. Sight is what your eyes register in the present. Vision is what your heart sees about the future. It’s the divine picture of possibility God gives you when you’re bold enough to believe Him for more.

Vision is when frustration with what is begins to fuel a holy passion for what could be. That fire you feel when things don’t sit right? That restlessness that won’t go away? That might not be anxiety—it could be vision trying to be born.

So many people are paralyzed by decision-making—not because they’re incapable, but because they lack clarity. Without vision, everything looks like an option. But with vision, you finally learn what to say yes to—and what to walk away from.

I’ve met so many people at a crossroads. Maybe you’re there now. You’re weighing job offers, contemplating a move, or trying to figure out a relationship. You pray and wait and worry. But what if the reason the decision feels cloudy isn’t because God is silent—it’s because your vision hasn’t come into focus?

Let me tell you: the moment you bring clarity to your vision, everything shifts.

Vision simplifies. It sharpens your yes and solidifies your no. It anchors your heart and sets your focus. Vision doesn’t make life easier, but it does make life clearer. You stop chasing every opportunity and start pursuing the right one. You stop living reactively and start living intentionally.

Here’s how vision plays out practically:

  • If you have a vision to be debt-free, then swiping that credit card becomes a clear no.
  • If your vision is to be a healthy parent for your kids, then sleeping in and skipping your workout becomes a no, and making time for rest and health becomes a yes.
  • If your vision is to walk in peace, then toxic relationships, constant drama, or compromising your values become clear nos.

Vision helps you filter life through the lens of purpose.

Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (KJV). Other translations say they cast off restraint or run wild. In other words, without vision, people wander aimlessly. They fall for distractions, detours, and discouragement.

But when vision is alive in your heart, you gain discipline. Direction. Determination. You don’t chase everything—you pursue the thing God called you to build, to carry, to become.

So, how do you clarify your vision?

  1. Close your physical eyes and open your spiritual ones. Ask God to reveal to you a picture of what He has in mind for your life. Not what culture tells you. Not what fear dictates. But what faith makes possible.
  2. Let frustration become fuel. That thing that burdens you? It might be the clue to your calling. Don’t ignore it. Let it point you to a better way.
  3. Write the vision down. Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision and make it plain.” Why? Because a blurry vision won’t build anything. But a clear one can change everything.
  4. Surround yourself with people who support it. Vision is too heavy to carry alone. Find those who believe in it—even when you’re still learning to believe in yourself.
  5. Pray and obey. Ask God for confirmation, peace, and boldness. Then take the next right step—even if it’s small.

The moment you get clear on the vision for your life, your decisions will begin to make themselves. The yeses will align with purpose. The nos won’t feel like losses—they’ll feel like freedom.

God doesn’t want you living blindly. He wants you to live with bold, clear, purpose-filled vision. You were created on purpose for a purpose. And when you see it—even with your eyes closed—you’ll never settle for less again.

Prayer:

God, I ask You to give me vision—not just sight. Show me what You see when You look at my life. Stir up the dreams that align with Your purpose for me. Help me to lay down distractions and chase clarity. When I feel uncertain, remind me of Your calling. When I’m frustrated, help me see it as fuel for growth. Give me the courage to say no to the wrong things so I can say yes to the right ones. I trust You to guide my steps and sharpen my focus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
