The Battle Has Already Been Won

We all face situations where the odds are against us. We may not see how we can get well, restore a relationship, or break an addiction. It seems impossible. It’s easy to accept it and think, “This is my lot in life.” But David said in Psalm 41, “The favor of God keeps my enemies from defeating me.” While setbacks or disappointments may arise, they won’t last if you keep moving forward. One touch of God’s favor can change any situation.

Joseph’s life illustrates this truth. He faced numerous setbacks: betrayal, slavery, and wrongful imprisonment. Instead of bitterness, he focused on God’s favor, knowing it kept his enemies from defeating him. He thanked God even in prison, believing his circumstances weren’t his destiny. Ultimately, Joseph was vindicated and promoted to second-in-command in Egypt.

The enemies of betrayal, lies, and injustice could not overcome him because God’s favor protected him. You might have endured bad breaks, but remember, God’s story for you isn’t finished.

Like Joseph, when you maintain a positive attitude despite unfairness, God’s favor will help you rise above difficulties. This may not happen instantly, but your enemies cannot keep you down. If facing what seems like a permanent situation—be it sickness, addiction, or relationship struggles—don’t dwell in self-pity. God’s favor cannot be undone.

Align your thoughts with God. Instead of saying you can’t succeed, express gratitude: “Thank you, Lord, for your favor that is turning this around.” When discouraged, declare, “The favor of God keeps my enemies from defeating me.” The more you appreciate God’s favor, the more you’ll notice its presence. Rather than focusing on problems, boast about God’s favor in your life.

Nehemiah dreamed of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls but lacked money, supplies, and manpower. Despite significant opposition and discouragement, he proclaimed, “I can do this because the gracious hand of God is on my life,” expressing confidence in God’s favor. He completed the wall in just 52 days. Focus on God; make Him bigger, and your problems will shrink.

Similarly, when David faced Goliath, he called him an “uncircumcised Philistine,” emphasizing Goliath’s lack of covenant with God. David confidently declared, “This day, I will defeat you.” He dismissed negative thoughts about facing Goliath.

Your thoughts are crucial in tough times. Negative thoughts limit God’s work in your life. Like David, adopt a faith-filled mindset: “This sickness can’t defeat me. I have God’s favor, which enables me to overcome obstacles and succeed.”

In tough times, you’ll always say something. Don’t focus on the problem’s size; focus on how great your God is. Declare like David, “I will defeat you.” Say like Nehemiah, “The gracious hand of God is on my life.” Instead of saying, “They’ll never change, ” for a wayward child,” declare, “You can’t have my children. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” With faith, no dark force can stop you.

There was a group filming a movie, and the lead actor was in a helicopter, flying over the ocean. In this scene, he was supposed to hand something to the people on the boat below. As the helicopter came close to the water, a massive burst of wind suddenly hit them. The pilot lost control of the helicopter, hitting the water and sinking quickly. About 30 seconds later, the pilot surfaced and was okay.

Everyone was relieved, but there was no sign of the lead actor. A minute went by, which felt like an eternity. Two minutes. Three minutes. Then, after five minutes, his head popped out of the water. He explained that he had been unconscious and had no idea where he was when he came to. He said, “I want to thank all the rescuers, especially the one who grabbed the back of my shirt, pulled me out of the helicopter, and gave me that big push toward the surface.” The people watching were amazed and said, “What do you mean? There were no rescuers. You were down there by yourself!” He looked up and replied, “Then I want to thank God. It could only have been Him who lifted me out.”

God has the final say. The enemy does not control your life; God is in control. It may seem like difficulties will defeat you, but you need to keep telling yourself, “This sickness can’t take my life.” “This cancer can’t defeat me.” “No bad break, no disappointment, no accident can shorten even one second of my divine destiny.” Isaiah said, “When you go through the waters, you will not drown. When you go through the rivers, you will not go under. When you go through the fire, you will come out without the smell of smoke.”

You may be in the fire today, but God assures you, “You’re coming out unscathed, better than before. No weapon against you will prosper. Psalms 89 says, “Our power is based on His favor.” Overcoming challenges and breaking free from bondage isn’t about personal strength; it’s about recognizing God’s goodness.

I know someone addicted to cocaine for over fourteen years who repeatedly relapsed after rehab. Breaking bad habits requires more than willpower; it involves addressing unseen forces. Humble yourself and seek God’s help. Declare daily, “The favor of God is breaking every stronghold.”

Tap into God’s favor to overcome challenges that seem insurmountable. If you’re facing a significant hurdle, don’t lose hope at the limits of your strength. Reject negative thoughts and be thankful for God’s favor, which allows you to achieve what you cannot do alone.

God knows how to solve your problems and restore your health, creating pathways for abundance. Your financial struggles can turn around with one touch of His favor. Believe that everything is possible; express gratitude daily, as He works wonders beyond your capabilities.

Psalm 44 reminds us, “We didn’t work for the land; You freely gave it to us.” God is ready to remove your struggles—sickness, addictions, debts, and hardships. These challenges won’t define your life; He will bless you with healing, breakthroughs, and fulfilling relationships.

Expect God’s goodness. Each day, anticipate a turnaround, knowing the favor of God shields you. You’ll see God defeat enemies, break free from addiction, restore relationships, and step into your destiny. He will achieve what you cannot do alone. Favor and healing are on the way. Breakthroughs and victory are near. You will rise above obstacles and fulfill your purpose. I hope this speaks to you, and I pray you have a blessed day!
