When God is Silent

On my morning walk, I was thinking about how much easier it is to follow God when you hear Him speaking, when you have a clear direction, and when things are going your way. But the real test is: how do you respond when God is silent, and you don’t hear anything? You’re doing the right thing, but things are not improving. You’re being your best, but doors aren’t opening. Months have gone by, maybe even years and you don’t hear anything. Here’s the key: keep doing the last thing God told you to do. Keep being consistent, and keep being faithful.

God rewards faithful people, people who don’t give up, people who don’t let a disappointment cause them to be sour, and people who don’t let a setback, a loss, or a delay stop their destiny. Faith is the currency of heaven, and our obedience, especially in challenging times breeds God’s favor and blessings in our lives. When things happen that we don’t understand, our attitude should be, “Father, thank you that you are working out your plan for my life. You are ordering my steps. You are opening doors that no man can shut. Thank you that you’ll get me to where I’m supposed to be”. Don’t let a bad break, a delay, a pandemic, or a person that did you wrong cause you to quit believing in your dreams, and quit pursuing what God put in your heart.

If it was going to happen instantly, you wouldn’t need any faith. Don’t be impatient for God to act. Just because you’ve had a setback, somebody walked away, or the medical report isn’t good, doesn’t mean that your dream is not going to come to pass. What God promised you cannot be stopped by people, by circumstances, or by bad breaks. Even you cannot stop God’s plans because we are not that powerful! I encourage you this morning to keep believing, keep praying, and keep doing the right thing!
