The Master’s Plan
God’s timing is flawless—even when it doesn’t feel like it. The seasons when we feel farthest from Him are often the ones where He is teaching us the most. Our stories swing between wilderness and mountaintop. On the mountaintop His nearness thunders; in the wilderness His seeming silence can rattle us. Yet both places reveal His character. He never shows up early and He never shows up late; He always arrives right on time. We won’t always understand His strategies, but we can always trust His heart. Faith is our yes to the One who knows what is best.
I love how Beth Moore gives us a daily shield of faith—simple, strong, and battle-tested:
-
God is who He says He is.
-
God can do what He says He can do.
-
I am who God says I am.
-
I can do all things through Christ.
-
God’s Word is alive and active in me.
Sometimes God lets us hit rock bottom so we learn that He Himself is the Rock beneath the bottom. When we are weakest, His strength shines brightest. Too often we want escape without transformation—relief without renewal. But God loves us too much to leave us unchanged. All power is His, so all glory must return to Him.
Build a reflex of praise. Before you ask Him for anything, thank Him for two specific things. Do it hourly if you must. Praise clears the fog, resets your focus, and puts a new song in your mouth. I’ve lived this. My life had to be turned upside down; I had to be sifted like wheat. The junk and the baggage had to go—really go. And when God began to restore me from the inside out, I didn’t just break free; I was broken free. Now I seek Him daily to walk in that freedom.
If we want to be useful in God’s kingdom, we must become fluent in His Word. Scripture is the Spirit’s sword, not a shelf decoration. A stronghold is any lie or pattern where the enemy presumes authority over us. If we belong to Christ, the enemy has no right to rule us—only the power we surrender through ignorance or exhaustion. We don’t have to meet a demon face-to-face to need the Word on our tongues; we only have to face our own doubts, weaknesses, and everyday battles.
It’s easy to believe God rules the universe; harder to believe He will keep His specific promises to us. But He is faithful. He will not allow us to be tested beyond His provision, and with every temptation He makes a way of escape. He is not out to get us, nor does He delight in our stumbles. Even in deserts that feel like prison, He remains our dwelling place, refuge, sustainer, strong tower, and deliverer.
Faith moves us from starving at the door of a spiritual banquet to feasting with the King. This isn’t about remembering who we are as much as remembering who He is. When God makes a promise, He stakes it on His own name—El Shaddai, God Almighty. Scripture overflows with promises, and nothing can block their fulfillment when we respond in faith. I didn’t know my purpose until I trusted His character more than my capacity. Apart from Him I have no good thing, and nothing I face is bigger than He is. So we decide to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes—because if God is for us, no opposition can ultimately stand.
Jesus loved to open blind eyes—often in front of those who were spiritually blind. It grieves me that many missed their Messiah, just as many do today. Still, God’s plan is not finished. He keeps covenant. I pray for a great unveiling, a sweeping return, a grafting back to life. The how and when are His mystery; the mercy is His nature. He is coming for His Bride and He has not forgotten the apple of His eye.
So take heart. In the wilderness and on the heights, in questions and in clarity, God is at work. Lift your shield. Raise your song. Wield the Word. Trust His timing. And walk forward knowing the Author of your story never writes a wasted line.
