“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

God’s grace is unconditional, it’s more than we deserve, it’s greater than we could possibly fathom and God’s love for us is at the very core and foundation of His grace.

As we read scripture, we see Christ is many things; He is for us, He is with us, but the most important characteristic of Christ is He is in us. This is so important to grasp because when God looks at us, He sees His Son in us. When we pray to God, it is Christ in us petitioning to God on our behalf. Galatians 2:20 tells us, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” When we are in Christ we are a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come.

The longer we walk with Christ, the more others should see Christ in us by our actions. Faith without works is dead, so after we receive the priceless gift of God’s grace, we should extend the same grace to those around us. For a season, I chose to go my own way apart from God’s plan. To say I was a sheep gone astray would be putting it lightly. I wanted to run my own life and basically told God thanks, but I got this and I don’t need you.

Without God in my life, I quickly found out how worthless I was and I never fully appreciated the umbrella of grace I operated under until it was removed. During this season of realizing what a horrible decision I had made and while others were still condemning me and casting stones, Jesus welcomed me back with open arms and told me I was forgiven. It was at this moment I felt the love and compassion of my God and it was here that grace happened. Jesus took my sin and my failures and He nailed them to the cross at Calvary.

Some of us must simply open our hearts to receive this grace while others must empty their hearts completely before this overflowing bounty can be received.

When we allow grace to happen, it changes us from the inside out and it makes us a better person. His grace is ready to meet you wherever you are and it will never leave you where it finds you. I’ll close with a quote from Martin Luther, “Should anyone knock at my heart and say who lives here I should reply not Martin Luther, but the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Nothing is Impossible With God

Even though it feels like I have a long way to go, I have begun my journey and every journey begins with a single step!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” II Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)2_Corinthians_12_9

This means the more afflicted we become, the more beat down we feel, the closer God is getting ready to lay the smack-down on our foes because He will never allow one of His children to sink beneath any of His enemies

The more I have released my limitations to God, the more empowered I have felt myself become.

God’s supernatural power fills in every void, crack and crevice relating to any physical, emotional, or spiritual need or scar we have or ever will. In times of danger, darkness, despair, and sickness, the safest place to be is in the presence of God!God's Closer Than You Think

Each new day, my pain is evolving which I hope is a good thing. Instead of throbbing, stabbing, burning, shooting and piercing, it’s tight, deep, penetrating, and rigid. I wouldn’t classify it as being better yet, but it’s definitely different!

If you find yourself needing more of God in your life, just ask! Lately, I have found myself falling asleep praying to God. I’ve done this for a couple of reasons:

 The first is to take my pain and give me rest! When the pain was beyond what I could take, I would just call out the name of Jesus.
 The second is in case I don’t wake… What better way to go than praying to the One who never slumbers and waking in His arms.
